Our pals from Cafe Barletta are coming up the road into Cliftonville, retreating from the cold windy seafront and joining us for a winter of brilliant feasting!

Starting on Wednesday 23rd of October and going straight through until Christmas.

A wonderful a la carte menu steeped in inspiration from the Mediterranean and focussing on local British quality produce, of which we have a rich amount in Kent.

We will also be hosting Christmas parties for both small and large groups. Christmas menu released shortly …..

From September 18th onwards Aleksandar will be joining us at Urchin Wines!

Aleks's menu is a modern take on Bulgarian and Balkan home cooking. Staple dishes such as the dolma rolls(pictured), stuffed mussels and filo pies are elevated through global influences.
A thoughtful expression of Eastern European food in today's Britain - think kimchi cabbage rolls and cured egg yolk spanakopita.

Eat Stew in February … and March

It’s cold, stew is warm and delicious and goes so well with wine, done deal.

The menu will change weekly and include delights like Osso Bucco, Romney Marsh Lamb Irish stew w/ blood orange grenolata, Mexican sweetcorn chowder, Heaven in a pot…. all served up with the best sourdough bread around from the Viking Bakehouse.

Not only will there be stew, but also things like tomato soup w/ Nduja and Burrata with fennel and blood orange salad, smoked catalan almonds.

For December, our beloved Annie Nichols, otherwise known as ‘Hot Meals Now’, will be taking the reins in the Urchin Kitchen.

In a festive build up, Annie will be teasing us into the Christmas spirit gently and warmly. With stews, French onion soup, pates, cannoli. She’s got so many treats!

Additionally, on Sunday the 9th & Sunday 16th December, we will be hosting a very special ‘12 Days of Christmas’ feast. Whereby food theatrics are sure to take centre stage as Annie works her magical culinary spells, paired with wines and other alcoholic delights from us.

We are so excited to welcome the duo, ‘Scotch + Ginger’ otherwise known as Margates wonderful Lisa Jayne Harris & Duncan to Urchin for the whole of November!

TACOS! Yes, that’s right, tacos! Arguably the best communal food and a bloody good challenge for us to pair wines to.

Pickled Cod tacos, chicharrones, drunken beans, braised pork taco, fish ‘n’ chip taco, salsa macha for days and the very special Walpole bay rice featuring homemade sea salt and dehydrated seaweed (it’s out of this world), apple crumble taco and much more....
